5. Important Entry & Stay Tips
- Carry your physical passport and printed copies of your invitation letter, itinerary and hotel bookings for inspection upon entry.
- Keep both digital and printed copies of your visa and travel documents during your trip.
- Group visa holders must follow the declared itinerary and travel with the group; unapproved free activities are not allowed.
- Do not overstay the permitted duration of stay marked on your visa.
- Hotels will complete your accommodation registration on your behalf. If you stay in private residential accommodation, you must register at the local police station within 24 hours of arrival.

Do I need an invitation letter to apply for a China tourist visa?
An invitation letter is not mandatory for all individual tourist visa applicants. However, official or agency-stamped supporting documents with a clear travel itinerary help verify your travel purpose and strengthen your application. Official group invitation letters are required for group tourist visa applications (groups of 5+ travelers). We only issue invitation letters and support documents as an add-on service for guests who book our private China tour packages; standalone service is not available.
I'm traveling alone / with my family (less than 5 people). Can I get an official group invitation letter?
Per official regulation, official group invitation letters are only issued to groups of 5 or more travelers. For 1–4 person parties, we provide a full set of stamped agency visa support documents to strengthen your individual tourist visa application. You can also join our fixed-date shared small group to form a valid 5+ group and receive the official group invitation letter.
How long does it take to get the official group invitation letter?
Once we receive all your group members' passport details and confirmed travel plan, we prepare and stamp all documents within 2–3 working days. After official submission, the review and issuance process takes 10–13 working days. Total duration may vary based on official review progress.
What if my visa application is rejected?
Common reasons for rejection include incomplete documents, inconsistent travel information, or insufficient supporting materials. If you have booked our tour service, our team can assist you in supplementing and revising your application materials for re-submission. We cannot guarantee visa approval, as the final decision rests solely with the consular authority.
Can I extend my tourist visa after arriving in China?
Short-term visa extension applications can be submitted to the local Exit & Entry Administration Bureau, but approval is not guaranteed. We recommend planning your travel schedule to match your visa validity period in advance.
Are there transit visa-free policies in China?
