6 Days Dali Lijiang Tour with Shaxi Ancient Town – Timeless Yunnan
Your private driver will pick you up at Dali airport or railway station and transfer you to your downtown hotel for check-in. No mandatory activities are scheduled for the day; you are free to rest and acclimate to Yunnan's altitude and climate to prepare for the rest of the trip.
After breakfast, visit the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, a millennium-old royal Buddhist complex showcasing the profound historical heritage of the Dali Kingdom. Stroll through Dali Ancient Town in the afternoon, wandering along Renmin Road and Foreigner Street to experience the authentic daily life of the Bai ethnic old town. In the evening, head to the Erhai Lake Ecological Corridor for a leisurely bike ride to enjoy the sunset view of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, then return to your hotel.
Depart Dali after breakfast and stop at Xizhou Ancient Town en route to explore traditional Bai-style residences, enjoy the iconic rice paddy scenery and taste the local specialty Xizhou Baba pastry. Then visit Zhoucheng Village to experience the national intangible cultural heritage of Bai ethnic tie-dye craftsmanship. Arrive at Shaxi Ancient Town in the afternoon, wander the centuries-old Sideng Street ancient market to experience the pristine town vibe, and stay overnight at a boutique local guesthouse.
Wander the local morning market in Shaxi at leisure in the early morning to experience the authentic local atmosphere. Then drive to Lijiang. After lunch, visit Black Dragon Pond Park with a panoramic distant view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Later, enter Lijiang Dayan Old Town, stroll along Sifang Street and visit the grand Mu Palace, the former chieftain residence of the Naxi people. You are free to explore the night view of the old town in the evening before staying at your downtown Lijiang hotel.
Head to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area after breakfast. Take the Glacier Park Cable Car to the summit to admire the stunning glacier wonder up close. Visit the turquoise Blue Moon Valley at the foot of the mountain in the afternoon. Then proceed to Baisha Ancient Town to view the famous Naxi Baisha Murals. You may add a visit to Shuhe Ancient Town if time permits. Return to downtown Lijiang after the tour.
Complete hotel check-out procedures after breakfast. Your private driver will transfer you to Lijiang Sanyi Airport according to your flight schedule, concluding your wonderful northwest Yunnan journey.
