8:00–11:00 Visit Temple of Heaven

A UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1420, it is the largest and best-preserved imperial sacrificial complex in the world, where Ming and Qing emperors worshipped Heaven and prayed for abundant harvests.
  • Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests: A 38m-tall circular wooden hall with no nails, supported by 28 pillars symbolizing the four seasons, 12 months and 12 two-hour periods.
  • Danbi Bridge: A 360m sacred imperial path connecting the main structures.

13:00–16:00 Visit the Forbidden City (Palace Museum)

A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest and best-preserved ancient wooden imperial complex, home to 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for nearly 500 years.
  • Scale: Covers 720,000 square meters with about 9,999 and a half rooms, symmetrically laid out along a central axis.

Dashilan

A 500-year-old historic commercial street in the Qianmen area, an important part of Beijing’s southern central axis.
  • Originated in the Yuan Dynasty, established in the Ming Dynasty and flourished in the Qing Dynasty.
  • Named after large anti-theft fences built in 1488 (Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty).
  • Home to time-honored brands: Tongrentang (Chinese medicine), Neiliansheng (shoes), Ruifuxiang (silk), Quanjude (Peking duck).
  • Features traditional courtyard architecture, red lanterns and authentic old Beijing street life.

Wangfujing Pedestrian Street

One of Beijing’s most famous commercial streets with a 700-year history.
  • First built in 1267 (Yuan Dynasty), named “Dingzi Street”.
  • Renamed “Wangfu Street” in the Ming Dynasty as many nobles built mansions here.
  • Officially named “Wangfujing” in 1905 after a sweet well on the street.
  • A 1,600-meter-long street combining modern shopping malls, international brands and traditional Chinese stores.
