Travel Itinerary

Changbai Mountain 3-Day Private Tour: Heavenly Lake & Volcanic Wilderness

Your guide and driver will meet you at Changbai Mountain Airport upon arrival. Transfer by private car to your 4-star hotel in Erdaobaihe Town (approx. 1 hour drive). Check in and rest after your journey. In the afternoon, take a casual walk around the local town to experience life in northeast China. Your guide will assist with dinner at a local restaurant serving authentic Jilin cuisine. Overnight in Erdaobaihe.

After breakfast, drive to Changbai Mountain North Slope, the most developed route with the richest variety of landscapes. Take the scenic shuttle up to Heavenly Lake (Tianchi) – the iconic crater lake on the China-DPRK border, subject to weather conditions. Descend to visit the spectacular Changbai Waterfall, steaming Julong Hot Springs (try the famous hot spring boiled eggs) and the mystical Underground Forest, a primeval forest nestled in a sunken volcanic crater. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

In the morning, visit Changbai Mountain West Slope, renowned for its wide, unobstructed views of Heavenly Lake. Climb the 1442 stone steps to the west observation deck for a full panoramic vista of the crater lake. Along the route, stop at the dramatic Changbai Grand Canyon and the colorful Alpine Garden (in bloom June–August). After the tour, transfer directly to Changbai Mountain Airport for your departure flight. Tour concludes.
