8:00–11:00 Visit Huaqing Palace
Huaqing Palace, also known as Huaqing Hot Springs, is a famous imperial garden with over 3,000 years of history, located at the foot of Lishan Mountain in Lintong.

History & Prosperity: First built in the early Tang Dynasty, it flourished under Emperor Xuanzong, who renamed it “Huaqing Palace” and visited almost every October.

Romantic Legend: World-famous for the eternal love story between Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei (Concubine Yang), depicted in the classic poem Song of Everlasting Sorrow.

Key Historical Sites: Witnessed the 1936 Xi’an Incident (a turning point in modern Chinese history) at Bingjian Pavilion; the allusion “Beacon Fires to Fool the Feudal Lords” originated here.

12:00–15:30 Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum (Terracotta Army)
Known as the Eighth Wonder of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site (inscribed in 1987), it is one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.

8:30–11:30 Visit Xi’an Museum (Small Wild Goose Pagoda)
Located at 72 Youyi West Road, Xi’an Museum integrates cultural relics, historic sites and gardens, with the Small Wild Goose Pagoda (a Silk Road World Heritage Site) as its core.

Small Wild Goose Pagoda: Built in the Tang Jinglong period (707–710 AD) as part of Jianfu Temple, over 1,300 years old. A typical square dense-eave brick tower, originally 15 stories (now 13), 43.4 meters high, famous for the “three splits and three merges” earthquake-resistant miracle.

Museum Design: Designed with the philosophy of “round heaven and square earth”, complementing the ancient pagoda and temple; named one of Xi’an’s Top Ten Future Landmarks.

12:30–16:30 Visit Ci’en Temple (Giant Wild Goose Pagoda)
Founded in 648 AD by Prince Li Zhi (later Emperor Gaozong) to commemorate his mother, Ci’en Temple is the most magnificent royal temple in Tang Chang’an.

Giant Wild Goose Pagoda: Built in 652 AD under the supervision of Master Xuanzang to house 657 Buddhist scriptures, statues and relics brought back from India. The earliest and largest existing square pavilion-style brick pagoda of the Tang Dynasty, 64.7 meters high with 7 stories, a Silk Road World Heritage Site.

Religious Status: Master Xuanzang presided over the temple and founded the Faxiang (Weishi) School, making Ci’en Temple the ancestral temple of this important Buddhist sect.

Cultural Highlights: The “Two Saints and Three Wonders Stele” (inscribed by Tang emperors and calligraphed by Chu Suiliang), and the site of the Tang Dynasty “imperial examination title inscription” tradition.
