Travel Itinerary

1-Day Imperial Gardens & Panda Encounter Private Tour

Your private English guide and driver greet you at hotel lobby with comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. Guide will brief you on the day's highlights and travel tips during the ride.

Tour UNESCO World Heritage Summer Palace, the Qing Dynasty imperial summer resort blending grand palace architecture and Jiangnan water town scenery. Walk the 728m Long Corridor decorated with over 14,000 traditional paintings, see the iconic Seventeen-Arch Bridge carved with 500 unique stone lions, climb Longevity Hill for panoramic views of Kunming Lake and Beijing skyline. Your guide will share royal history, architectural symbolism and imperial legends. Optional boat ride on Kunming Lake is available for extra experience.

Choose from guide-recommended restaurants nearby: time-honored Fangshan Restaurant inside the park serving imperial cuisine and Peking duck with lake views, budget-friendly local farmhouse restaurant with fresh ingredients, or Western cafes for familiar flavors.

Visit China's oldest zoo (founded 1906), home to over 430 animal species and a core giant panda conservation base. Watch giant pandas eat bamboo, play and rest in spacious natural enclosures at the Giant Panda Pavilion, learn about panda breeding and protection efforts. You can also freely explore other zones to see red pandas, golden snub-nosed monkeys, Siberian tigers, Asian elephants and flamingos.

Private transfer back to your downtown hotel. Flexible drop-off at restaurants, shopping districts, airports or train stations is available on request. Recommended dinner options include famous Peking duck restaurants, old Beijing Muslim street food or Wangfujing snack street.

Wear comfortable walking shoes; bring your passport for entry checks. Summer Palace optional boat ride is available at your own cost.
