Travel Itinerary

Private Mutianyu Great Wall, Hongluo Temple & Yanqi Lake Scenic Day Tour

Hotel pickup by your private English-speaking guide and driver. Drive to Mutianyu Great Wall (approx. 1.5 hours), as your guide introduces the history of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall and today's itinerary.

Take the round-trip cable car to ascend the wall. Explore the most scenic sections, focusing on the less crowded eastern sections for unobstructed photos and a peaceful atmosphere. Your guide shares historical commentary and helps you capture the best views.

Enjoy lunch at a local farmhouse restaurant near the Great Wall (own expense), with options including Peking duck, home-style northern dishes, and Western food. Your guide can recommend the best restaurants based on your preferences.

Drive 30 minutes to Hongluo Temple, a 1700-year-old Buddhist temple known as the "most famous temple in northern China", surrounded by ancient pine forests and bamboo groves. Visit the temple's three signature wonders: the imperial bamboo grove, male and female ginkgo trees, and wisteria wrapping around pine trees. Walk through the tranquil temple grounds, far quieter than city-center temples, and learn about Chinese Buddhist culture.

Head to Yanqi Lake West Mountain Trail, a free scenic boardwalk with panoramic views over Yanqi Lake, the iconic Sunrise East Kempinski hotel, and the APEC conference island. Walk the 2-3 kilometer easy trail to enjoy the lake and mountain scenery at golden hour.

Private transfer back to your downtown Beijing hotel, concluding the day with memories of ancient history, tranquil temples, and beautiful lake scenery.
